Just bought a new RV or thinking about getting one to enhance your travels? Then you’ll need to know what to put in it before you go anywhere!

Your RV comes with lots of living and storage space which allows you the freedom to pack many items for your comfort and enjoyment, and since you’ll be packing much more than a suitcase’s worth of gear, it can be helpful to figure out what you need to bring well in advance of your first journey.

We’ve drawn up the following list of essential RV supplies that you’ll want to pack before your first camping trip.

General RV Supplies

When traveling in an RV, there are several supplies that you’ll need that you definitely wouldn’t pack for your car or for a plane ride.

For power, you’ll need: Electrical hookup cords An auxiliary cable for your TV A mobile hotspot to boost Wi-Fi signals (many campgrounds have free Wi-Fi).

You’ll also want a sewer hose and a freshwater hose for your holding tanks.

An Emergency Kit

It’s wise to pack an emergency kit. It can include a hand-crank or battery-powered radio, signal flares, a hatchet, some rope, extra water and food, and a flashlight.

A First Aid Kit

Your first-aid kit should be stocked with bandages, gauze, medical tape, ointment, antiseptic cream, petroleum jelly, tweezers, nail clippers, antacids, painkillers, bug spray, aloe vera, sunscreen and calamine lotion.

Electronics

Don’t forget about your personal electronic items like cell phones, laptops, and video game consoles, along with their charging cords.

Cleaning Supplies

Make sure that your RV is also stocked with cleaning supplies, like a mop, a broom, a dustpan, a small vacuum, dust rags, paper towels, glass cleaner, multi-surface cleaner, vinegar, baking soda, and bleach.
